The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission will decide the fate of Wild Rose – Jefferson at its meeting Thursday, June 12, at Catfish Bend Casino in Burlington.
Grow Greene County, which has spent the last 14 months campaigning for approval of the project first by Greene County residents in a referendum, and then by the Racing and Gaming Commission, will be at the meeting as the commission votes on the license application.
The discussion of the application and the vote will be live streamed by Grow Greene County. Area residents are invited to watch at the Sierra Community Theatre or on their own computers at home.
To access the live stream, go to www.ustream.tv. At the search icon at the top of the page, enter GrowGreeneCounty as one word. An invitation is posted there from Grow Greene County’s Bob Allen, for those who want to check their computer capability before Thursday morning.
The Racing and Gaming Commission meeting begins at 8:30 am. The Grow Greene County application is the last thing on the agenda. (See the agenda under the Calendar tab on GreeneCountyNewsOnline.) Grow Greene County members are unsure when the commissioners will reach the bottom of their agenda, but it likely won’t be earlier than 10:15. For those who want to watch at the Sierra Community Theatre, doors will open at 9:30.
